What is included with my InkyPanel?
Every new InkyPanel includes 6 months of InkyPanel Cloud. One subscription covers one InkyPanel.
What happens when my included cloud service ends?
When the included cloud service ends, new data, dashboard changes and scheduled updates require an active InkyPanel Cloud plan. What remains displayed on the frame is being confirmed before launch.
Can I cancel the monthly plan?
Cancellation terms are being finalized for launch. No cancellation timing or refund terms are promised yet.
Can I switch between monthly and annual billing?
Plan-switching rules are being finalized for launch and will be published before paid cloud billing begins.
Does each InkyPanel need its own plan?
Yes. One InkyPanel Cloud subscription covers one InkyPanel.
How long does the battery last?
InkyPanel is designed for battery life measured in months. Actual runtime depends on refresh frequency, Wi-Fi conditions and configuration; final measured guidance will be published as beta testing is completed.
Does InkyPanel require Wi-Fi?
Yes. The current InkyPanel 7 wireless configuration uses a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network to set up and receive dashboard updates.
Is InkyPanel open source?
The public release and licensing plan for InkyPanel hardware and firmware is not final. Updates will be published in the documentation and official GitHub organization.
How does InkyPanel protect my privacy?
Access to the InkyPanel application and connected frames is authenticated. Detailed privacy and data-retention documentation is being finalized for the beta.
Can I create custom widgets?
A general custom-widget system is not yet available. Current flexible options include simple text and website screenshot widgets, with broader customization planned.
Does it work with Home Assistant?
Yes. The current InkyPanel application includes a Home Assistant widget. Compatible entities and setup requirements are documented as the integration evolves.
When will InkyPanel ship?
A final shipping date has not been announced. Beta participants will receive confirmed timing before committing to an order.
Where will InkyPanel be available?
The beta will begin in Germany. More regions are planned, but their timing has not yet been confirmed.
